Suvrdeep (Samanta) (West Bengal) – A Kolkata-born painter (BFA Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata) who completed his MVA at Baroda. Suvrdeep’s practice has been featured in group shows like The Stillness That Spoke. He incorporates found objects and mixed media into large-scale canvases, addressing social and ecological themes. For instance, he “probes topics such as politics, environment and ritual” through layered imagery Suvrdeep’s Baroda education taught him to weave complex ideas into his art, continuing the city’s legacy of socially engaged modernism.
