Kajal Chaudhary (Gujarat) – A painter who earned her BVA at MSU Baroda and is pursuing an MVA there. Kajal’s intimate, layered canvases examine modern human connection and disconnection. Drawing on fragments – a gesture in a video call, a family snapshot – she creates atmospheric fields of overlapping figures. Her work uses repetition and staining (with acrylic and pigment on fabric) to evoke the tension between presence and absence. Baroda’s emphasis on introspective, inventive painting has nourished her subtle language of empathy and distance.
