At the forefront of the struggle against caste-based domination, Bhise's practice embodies a commitment to social justice, activism, and the remembrance of resistance against caste, class, and gender oppression. Working across monumental scrolls and multi-panel paintings inspired by revolutionary Mexican murals, as well as intimate
ink-on-paper works reminiscent of Somnath Hore, his deliberate iconography is informed and deliberate in its radicality.
The Rise of Protests 4 (2021) captures the collective energy of resistance, embodying the urgency and determination of grassroots movements while Ramabai Nagar, Mumbai I (2022) reflects on the tragic 1997 Ramabai killings, offering a perspective on the systemic violence faced by Dalit communities and bodies everyday. Together, these works bear witness to Bhise’s commitment to exploring themes of oppression, resilience, and social justice.
