Musa Mia, hailing from Mymensingh, Bangladesh, has recently pursuing his master’s in painting from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He was honored with the prestigious Jeram Patel Award for 2023-2024 from the Faculty of Fine Arts. His academic journey was marked by a focus on painting.
Musa’s charcoal drawings evoke a sense of mystery and illumination, intertwining memories of his village with the desolate landscapes of urban decay. His work reflects the transient nature of existence, capturing the rhythmic journey of migration and the hidden stories behind abandoned places. Musa's art juxtaposes the abundant nature of his homeland with the bleakness of urban ruins, prompting viewers to consider the impermanence of life and the ongoing quest for belonging and identity.
