India Art Fair - Project Booth P16
Exhibit320 is located in the heart of Lado Sarai, in the capital city of New Delhi, India providing a dynamic and creative hub for artists, the arts and its audience. Exhibit320 showcases contemporary art from India and the sub-continent with a focus on India, Pakistan, Srilanka and Bangladesh, creating a platform for new thoughts and ideas. The emphasis of the exhibition space is on art that engages in new means, both by thoughts and material. The space is therefore focused on creative endeavor that puts precedence on aesthetic explorations, critical dialog and furthering visual dialogues. Our aim is to discover and encourage contemporary and evolving talent.
Exhibit 320 has had a fruitful year with the opening of curated solo and group exhibitions presenting works by emerging and mid-career artists whose practices are based in the sub-continent. Each exhibition has presented the opportunity to explore the work of artists within a critical framework. This process has added to the many histories of cultural production within the sub-continent.
March 2017 saw the season begin with new bodies of work in solo presentations by artists Vibha Galhotra[(In)Sanity in the age of Reason] at Exhibit320 and Sumakshi Singh [Leaving the Terrestrial: Its own kind of Archive] at Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Mumbai. Group exhibitions included "Unearth - Time | Matter | Process", an exploration of the poetics in abstraction and materiality. Artists included Arun KS, Astha Butail, Gunjan Kumar, Hemali Bhuta and Manisha Parekh.
In January 2018 we open a solo exhibition by Bangladesh based artist, Yasmin Jahan Nupur. Nupur's art practice is largely influenced by the social and political developments that have shaped the ecological and cultural landscape of Bangladesh, and helped define the values of the community at large. "Patterns of a Tactile Score" is an iteration of the artist's process-based research in the fine weaving technique of Jamdani.
Exhibit320 was invited and is now the first and only art organization from India to become a member of the Asia Contemporary Art Consortium (ACAC). The gallery is proud to work alongside major international galleries and institutions towards heightening awareness and appreciation of contemporary art discourses and practices from Asia.
