What appear to be modernist metal sculptures are in fact graphite (pencil) drawings on paper. Ms. Sultana calls them drawings instead of sculptures because of what she describes as the ephemeral, "transitory quality of the material."

Born in Jessore, Bangladesh, Ms. Sultana, 30, lives and works in Dhaka, the country's capital whose urban sprawl and architecture inspire her works, she said.
